About our school

Bidwill Public School is a large, well-appointed school which is unique in that it shares a spacious and attractive campus with a high school and a preschool. Most students live within easy walking distance of the school. The school provides a caring, supportive learning environment and programs that emphasise the development of positive attitudes to learning.

Throughout the curriculum, priority is given to: The acquisition of language, literacy and numeracy skills; the welfare of students; the development of social skills necessary to learn, work and play cooperatively; and the importance of accepting responsibility for one's own actions and learning. Specialist support staff work with class teachers to support students at all stages of development.

Emphasis is placed on early intervention and positive behaviour for learning underlies student welfare practices. The school implements specialist dance, drumming and sports programs to further develop student learning. The school has a strong connection to culture through both programs offered and practises in place.

Students have access to dance and didgeridoo groups as well as learning the Darug language through both poetry and choir.
