Since it opened in 1965, it has produced more than fifteen billion circulating coins. Join one of our Visitor Experience Hosts as they take you on a digital journey through our Proof Room, Tool Room and Circulating Coin Hall. Learn about our minting process, from a coin’s initial design all the way through to shipping it off to a bank. You’ll encounter a coin press so big we had to bring it in through the roof, vacuum furnaces that can be as hot as 960℃, forklifts that operate without a driver, and so much more! |
